Family-, Bluewater- & Cruising-ready:

The Next Chapter for Our Beloved Catamaran

Don’t be alarmed—there will come a time in the future when we will part with our beloved catamaran. However, for now, we’re focused on planning an exciting Atlantic crossing from the United States (Virginia) back to the Mediterranean. Our goal is to set sail from the U.S. at the end of April, charting a course through Bermuda, the Azores, and Gibraltar, and then enjoying some more time on board in the Med.

As life leads us back to Germany for business, our visits to this cherished vessel may become less frequent, which is bittersweet. That’s why we’re opening the door to the possibility of passing her on to someone who would love and care for her as much as we do. If you’re interested in owning this beauty, we’d be happy to hear from you.

Planned Locations for Visits:

  • Currently: Virginia, USA
  • May: Azores / Gibraltar / Mediterranean
  • June: Possibly Sardinia
  • September: France, Port-Saint-Louis-du-Rhône

We’re in no rush to sell, but if the right opportunity arises for a new owner or family to create wonderful memories on this ready-to-sail catamaran, we’d be thrilled to help make it happen.

About the Boat

As a family of four, we’ve spent countless hours refitting this boat and have lived aboard for around 18 months. Since leaving the Med in the summer of 2023, we’ve focused on optimizing her for comfortable, sustainable living and excellent sailing performance.

Here’s what makes her special:

  • Self-Sufficient Systems: Drinkable freshwater through UV filters, abundant solar energy (plus a generator for backup), and a fully equipped galley with 220V induction cooking (gas stove available as backup, great for baking bread and cakes).
  • Comfort & Convenience: An ice cube maker for cold drinks and ample storage in bilges, fridges, and a freezer allow for weeks of independence.
  • Sailing Performance: She’s fast under sail, with a versatile sail portfolio of seven options, including our favorite asymmetrical gennaker and the new Parasailor added last summer.

This boat is more than ready to provide her next owner with incredible adventures, independence, and comfort at sea.

Owner Comments

2nd Owner:

“Dream On” was the perfect boat for me and my wife. Thanks to electric winches and all reefing being possible from the cockpit, we could handle her comfortably. And the possibility to drop the saloon table for a (huge) double bed was a Godsend on longer passages when we were often alone on board — the person on watch at the helm always had company. The generous 4-cabin en-suite accommodation also meant that we could sometimes have our 2 children together with their children on board. She was not my first catamaran. Back in the eighties, I had a Catalac 12m and after that a 40ft Lagoon and a 42ft Privilege, and I have also chartered other types of catamaran. So we knew what we were doing when we purchased “Dream On”. She had completed a circumnavigation with her first owner (I’m the second), so she is more than capable for the Caribbean cruising we had in mind (altogether 10 years). “Dream On” is also a sister ship of Bobby Schenck’s legendary ‘Thalassa’, so no further recommendation should be necessary As easy to handle, seaworthy and comfortable as she is, at 75 the time has come for us to size down. We will now purchase a smaller boat just for the two of us.
